Red Riders Race Report: San Diego Supercross Lites
Honda Torco Racing Fuels rider Dan Reardon started off the
evening right, grabbing second place in the first heat right
behind Ryan Dungey. Reardon rode a solid race, getting a
good start and maintaining his position. The deep turn-one
sand pit that was a challenge to the 450 riders was a
formidable obstacle on the smaller bikes, especially since the
racing is so tight in this class. Staying out of the inevitable first-
lap pileups in this turn was critical.
Jake Weimer led the way in the second heat on his Honda
Torco Racing Fuels CRF250R, taking the win by a decisive five
seconds. Weimer was simply untouchable, and really looked
good for the main given his performance in the heat.
The main was another story, though. While both Jake Weimer
and Dan Reardon had escaped any of the first-turn wrestling
matches in their heats, in the main they both got caught up,
and finished the first lap in the back of the pack. In a race this
competitive, that’s just an insurmountable obstacle. Weimer
finished the night in 17th, while Reardon dropped out on lap
13, while running in the 21st spot—a real stroke of bad luck for
a rider who’s won three national titles in his native Australia.

Red Riders Race Report: Anaheim III Supercross Lites class -ozzy go-
Jake Weimer of the Honda Torco Racing Fuels team started out
the night in blazing form, taking the Heat One win on his
CRF250R ahead of last week’s overall winner, Jason Lawrence.
TroyLeeDesigns/Honda/Redbull riders Chris Gosselaarand Justin
Keeneyslotted in fifth and eighth, and in all, six of the top nine
riders were astride Honda CRF250Rs.
Heat Two saw Gavin Gracyck take his CRF250R to a well-paced
sixth, while Dan Reardon grabbed fourth in the LCQ to transfer
to the main.
At the drop of the gate, Jake Weimer’s hopes for a repeat of his
Phoenix win disappeared in a cloud of roost, as an opening-lap
crash put him out for the night. Kyle Cunningham emerged from
the first-lap meleé in an impressive third place, just behind
Jason Lawrence and Austin Stroupe. CRF riders Gavin Gracyck
ran in 12th, Dan Reardon in 13th, and Justin Keeney in 14th
after the first lap
Reardon wrestled his CRF up through the field; by lap five he
was already in tenth, and he continued his dash from the back.
Up at the front, Kyle Cunningham was waging a brave fight to
stay in the top five. Which is where he finished, with Honda
riders Dan Reardon coming in eighth, and Gavin Gracyk tenth,
and Justin Keeney in 13th.
As the loam settled back to the Angels Stadium floor, Honda
Torco Racing Fuel’s Dan Reardon stood third in the SX Lites
points race. The Lites’ western division has just two races (San
Diego, Houston) before their long layoff period. Next week’s
race is just down the road from Anaheim, in San Diego,
California, a stone’s throw from Jeremy McGrath’s home.

The Latest Aussie Import
Australia has certainly given us our fair share of supercross
stars: Brett Metcalfe, Michael Byrne and of course, Chad Reed.
Meet Dan Reardon - the newest Aussie import who's already
turning heads in the AMA Supercross Lites series. The 22 year-
old from Brisbane, Queensland (who goes by Dan, not Daniel,
by the way) has several Australian National motocross and
supercross titles to his name. But what really set his career in
motion was giving Reed a stiff challenge in the Australian
outdoor series last year. That garnered the attention of the
American Factory Connection Honda team, who brought
Reardon over to compete along side Jake Weimer and Kevin
Windham on the Torco Racing Fuels/Honda team. Although he
hasn't cracked the podium just yet, Reardon has led races and
shown remarkable consistency in his rookie AMA season. go to

“Dan Reardon’s toolbox is full. Besides [Ryan] Dungey, he’s the
most consistent rider out there. He learns from his mistakes. He’ll
make a mistake one lap and then not repeat it on the next. He can
see the entire track and wins are not that far off for him. He’s
amazing for a rookie.” That’s Skip Norfolk talking heavy praise
from a mechanic who won a multitude of supercross
championships with Jeremy McGrath. Currently second in points in
the 2008 AMA Western Regional Supercross Lites Series, Reardon
and his Torco Racing Fuels Honda CRF250R have a genuine shot at

Red Riders Race Report: San Francisco Supercross Lites
Up-and-coming Honda Torco Racing Fuels rider Dan Reardon
turned in a solid performance in his heat, taking a strong fourth
on his CRF250R, while Jake Weimer, who has already notched his
first-ever Supercross Lites win this season, won the second heat
race of the evening in impressive fashion on his Honda Torco
Racing Fuels CRF250R. Honda Troy Lee Designs CRF250R rider
Gavin Gracyk grabbed fourth, with Robert Kiniry putting his
CRF250R into the main via the LCQ.
The start saw two Jake Weimer unable to continue after a tough
start, but Gavin Gracyk found himself in good shape in fourth on
the first lap, with fellow Honda rider Dan Reardon steady in
seventh with Jason Lawrence was out in front.
From there, Dan Reardon made a determined climb toward the
point, eventually taking fifth on lap six and moving into fourth on
lap nine. Gavin Gracyk was fighting hard in the tough conditions,
slipping back to sixth but persevering with excellent maturity and
consistency.
At the end it was Jason Lawrence, Tommy Hahn, Brett Metcalfe
and Honda Torco Racing Fuels rider Dan Reardon, whose strong
weekend allowed him to maintain his second place ranking in the
series points tally, just 19 points back. Gavin Gracyk took his
CRF250R to sixth, with Robert Kiniry bringing his CRF in eleventh.

Kevin Windham Third at Anaheim 2 -ozzy go-
The third round of the AMA Supercross Championship returned
the series regulars to Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., but this
time it was for Retro Night. The track at Anaheim II was built to
replicate the 1986 Anaheim Supercross track.
Team AMSOIL rider Kevin Windham continued to set his groove
toward the 2008 championship, as he started well and grabbed
his second podium in a row while simultaneously moving up into
second in the points championship in the 450cc class.
“I was pretty happy with my start,” Windham said. “I started in
the same gate both times. It wasn’t the best gate, but it was
consistent. I think the testing that we did this week really paid off
in how things came together for me. I was a work in progress
today. I was eighth fastest in practice. It’s the same thing every
weekend, because I don’t practice that strong, but it’s something
about not having to go fast, not having the gate drop, not having
the fans in the stands... I was eighth fastest, and I was like,
‘Man, what's going on?’ But the good news is that I was only a
second off of second. Once the lights came on, I won my heat
and really put it together in the main. I wish I could’ve caught
Hill, but two weeks in a row and two podiums, I’m fired up about
that. Hopefully I can keep finding the podium.”
In the Lites class, Dan Reardon continued to show his
consistency. On a track that he said was similar to tracks he’s
used to back home in Australia, Reardon came from near the tail
end of the top 10 to finish inside the top five.
“My reaction time off the start was really good, but I kind of
overcooked it a little bit going into the first corner,” Reardon said
of his start. “I didn’t get hung up on a Tuff Block, but I was on
the verge of riding the Tuff Blocks, so I shut it down off the first
jump. I was floating around I think in like eighth or ninth on the
first lap. Then things started going good and I started picking
people off as I went. Fourth place is okay. It’s not a podium, but
it’s still points on the board, and there are still a lot of races to
go.”
Fourth place was good enough to move Reardon into third in the
points championship with five rounds left to run.

Red Riders Race Report: Anaheim2 - Supercross Lites
Phoenix winner Jake Weimer had another good race at
Anaheim, continued his strong performance this season. The
Torco Racing Fuels rider nabbed fourth in his heat race, just
ahead of Kyle Cunningham’s CRF250R in sixth. Tiger Lacy, also
on a CRF250R, clawed his way the last transfer spot in ninth.
Heat 2 saw Torco Racing Fuel’s Dan Reardon sixth, with fellow
Honda rider Justin Keeney getting his transfer ticket stamped
with a ninth-place finish. CRF250R riders Gavin Gracyk and Jeff
Northrop made the main by taking third and fourth in the LCQ.
In the main, Honda Torco Racing Fuel’s Dan Reardon got off to
a disappointing start in seventh, but made up for it by quickly
moving through the pack, finally finishing a creditable fourth.
Gavin Gracyk made good use of his LCQ performance by
coming home eighth overall. Jake Weimer had a rough race,
finishing 15th, but set the 5th overall fastest lap time in the
Main. Up at the front, Anaheim 1 winner Ryan Dungey took the
win, with Broc Hepler and Austin Stroupe following him home.
Honda CRF250R rider Reardon’s consistency and speed now
has him slotted into third place in the championship run, just 1
point away from Broc Hepler in second. hondaredriders.com

Red Riders Race Report: Anaheim 1 - SX West Lites -ozzy go-
The Supercross Lites West field was missing both Ben
Townley, now on the Red Bull Racing Honda CRF250R,
and his arch rival Ryan Villopoto, both of whom had
chosen to run the SX Lites East Series instead.
Newly signed Dan Reardon used the power and traction
of his Torco Racing Fuels Honda CRF250R to take the
holeshot in the Supercross Lites West main, running
ahead of the entire field until lap five, when he was
finally run down by Jason Lawrence. A wonderful battle
for the top spot ensued, with Dan Reardon, Jason
Lawrance, Ryan Dungey and Justin Brayton all battling to
take, and keep, the lead for the first half of the contest.
It finally came down to Dungey and Lawrence, the race
decided when Lawrence tumbled on lap nine, conceding
the win to Dungey. Honda CRF250R rider Reardon
finished an excellent fourth, showing his speed and
determination in the ever-changing, ever treacherous

5 Minutes With...Daniel Reardon November 15, 2007
On the weekend of October 12-13 in Las Vegas, 21-year-old
Australian Dan Reardon made his U.S. debut, lining up for the
Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open. Atop his Honda CRF250R, the
2007 Australian Supercross Pro Open Champion and ‘07 Nokia
Motocross Pro Open National Champion rode to 7-4 main-event
scores. This weekend, Reardon will race in Reno, Nevada’s
Livestock Event Center, host site of this weekend’s Toyota AMA
Arenacross Series rounds, though he is not an arenacross series
regular. We tracked him down to find out why he’s racing AX and
how things are shaping up for 2008 AMA Supercross Series debut.

Reardon makes his mark in his U.S debut -ozzy go- fullnoise.com.au
After qualifying the fastest 250 both nights, Reardon made both
the main events in a new format of one class one champ.
Heat one on Friday night saw the 122 in the lead after a few laps
and was able to hold off Reed till a couple of laps from the end,
which gave Dan a ticket straight into the main event.
A lap into the main event and a shunt from behind had Reardon
off his bike and in last place and was able to claw back some
positions to finish in 7th place on the night.
Saturday's 4th place heat race wasn't enough to get Reardon into
the main event but was a respectable finish behind Mike Alessi,
Michael Byrne and Grant Langston all riding 450's.
A tangle with Langston was an introduction to the big league of
motocross.
"He (Langston) made a mistake, I came in tight on a turn, we
rubbed a little bit and then he gave it back to me, it's all part of it"
explained Reardon. 
A poor start in the semi had Reardon playing catch up and was on
a mission as only the winner of the semi would make it to the
main.
Lap after lap Reardon picked off riders putting on a great show
for the excited Las Vegas crowd and with 2 turns from the finish,
made a spectacular block pass to take the win.
Reardon starting on the inside gate of the main event got off to a
squirly start and clipped a tuff block robbing him of speed into the
1st turn but was able to dodge the carnage of Chad Reed,
Langston and Tim Ferry going down.
From mid field Reardon passed a few riders quickly and then
battled with Byrne for a few laps, finally passing him for 3rd place
and clearing out, till Alessi on the big horsepower 450 rounded
him in only a lap from the end for a 4th place finish.
After the race I caught up with Dan to get his thoughts on the
weekend. "I'm happy" said Reardon. "The whole idea of this race
was to get my feet wet and test things out". "I did what I could
