Seventeen-year-old Graves Motorsports rider Josh Herrin burst
onto the AMA scene in 2006—within weeks of turning an AMA
legal 16—netting his first podium in only his second AMA race
and in one of the deepest classes the series has to offer. Now in
his first full season, Herrin’s learning year has been haunted by
inconsistency but also punctuated by brilliant rides, including his
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca battle with Roger Lee Hayden and
his contest with Josh Hayes at last weekend’s Virginia
International Raceway round. RRX contributor Jeff Feathers
