In another era, one that didn’t include the headline-stealing
James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael, Chad Reed might have
become known as one of the greatest Supercross champions
of all time.
He has finished on the podium 74 times during his career
riding in the AMA’s premier stadium dirt-bike class, winning
the class championship in 2004.
During the season opener at Angel Stadium, he destroyed the
competition, leading 17 of 20 laps and holding a 21-second
advantage over second-place Stewart when the checkered
flag waved.
On Saturday, Reed and his rivals will return to Orange County
when the high-flying dirt-bike series makes its second of three
stops at Angel Stadium.
Recently, he parked his Yamaha long enough to let the
Register know how he spent his first pro paycheck and what
city he can’t wait to visit once the Supercross Series gets
going. read the interview on Daily SoCal Sports Reports
