Honda Red Riders Race Report: Glen Helen -ozzy go-

Glen Helen marks the close of the 2007 AMA Motocross season,
and it was one of the most competitive—and unpredictable—
seasons in MX. Honda’s Red Riders riders won more than their
share of the battles, but at the end couldn’t quite win the war.

Honda factory rider Andrew Short came into the California finale
just eight points back in the title chase—not a bad showing for his
first-ever season in the premier 450 class. A runaway first-moto
win at the previous Texas round gave Short’s competition
something to think about—and gave the Honda rider a slight lead
in the points. But a momentary lapse in the second moto, while
holding a seemingly secure lead, knocked him back to second
place in the points.

“I left it all on the table in Texas,” Short said. “I was pretty
disappointed about tipping over. That kind of mistake gives me
a lot of motivation to go and do well at Glen Helen.”

MX Lites: An epic season-long duel between evenly matched
teammates, American Ryan Villopoto and Brit Ben Townley, went
down to the last moto at Glen Helen, the two swapping moto wins
and overall trophies all season long, each giving as good as he
got. click on ozzy go to the full story on hondaredriders.com
