Three-time defending champion Elissa Steamer of San Francisco
finished second this morning when Marisa Dal Santo put together
three steady runs that culminated with her first victory in the
Skateboard women's street final and her first X Games medal.
Dal Santo, a 20-year-old from Chicago who finished fourth last
year, elevated her scoring after opening with 81.75 points on her
first series of moves in the jam-session event.
Her three-score average was 86.08 points, proving her to be the
most steady competitor. Her strongest move was a backside kick
flip off the steps.
Steamer, of San Francisco, and Amy Caron of Huntington Beach
took silver and bronze medals. Steamer averaged 80.33 and
Caron averaged 80.16.
