It's safe to say that this year's Glen Helen
course was the gnarliest one in history!
Not only did the 1.5-mile-long track
feature all of the Glen Helen staples like
steep, 20-story-tall uphills and downhills
(including an all-new one that riders flew
halfway down), but some new jumps were
also added to make things even more
extreme. With the possible exclusion of
LaRocco’s Leap at Red Bud, the new
fourth-gear-pinned leap is definitely the
biggest hucker found on any outdoor
National track. Though some Lites riders
struggled to make it all the way over the
massive leap, most MX-class competitors
aired it out with relative ease. Tim Ferry
demonstrates here in practice.
