Reed out to maintain Houston podium record

Chad Reed has never finished out of the top three in Houston and the
Australian Supercross star has vowed to maintain his perfect record when
Round 7 of the 2008 Monster Energy® Drink AMA Supercross, an FIM
World Championship, heads to Reliant Stadium on Saturday February 16.

In his five visits to the Texan event he has won twice, finish second twice
and third once.

This season is fast becoming Reed’s most successful yet and the
dominating Australian has achieved a number of personal milestones.

Last weekend, Reed celebrated his 31st career win, his fourth consecutive
and fifth of the season, he also became the first Supercross rider to sweep
all of the races held in California.

Reed is currently 35 points ahead of his nearest rival Kevin Windham but
stated he would not be resting on his laurels come Saturday.

“I am in a very good position right now,” said Reed. “But I can’t afford to
get complacent, I need to make sure I treat each and every race the
same.”

“While the championship title is the priority, I will be going all out for
another race win come Saturday.”

“Houston has been good to me. I have never finished off the podium here
so I plan to make sure that record remains in tact,” Reed continued.

Of the 115 Main Event laps contested in the six rounds of the series so far,
Reed has led 80 of them. fullnoise.com.au
