Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider Brett Metcalfe will
make his return to the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship
series next weekend in Lakewood, Colo., at Thunder Valley
Motocross Park.
Metcalfe, who will have missed four rounds of the AMA Motocross
series due to a thumb injury sustained at High Point, will have
completed eight weeks of rehabilitation after surgery and is ready
to head back into racing action.
“I am so grateful to only miss four rounds of racing and I couldn’t
have done it without all of the great people around me,” said
Metcalfe. “Dr. Michael Ting, first off, was able to pull some strings
and get me into surgery immediately after the injury which was a
vital factor in my quick return. Also, Living Fuel Nutrition was
there to help me out with getting me back up to speed with
training and riding.”
“However, mostly importantly, was my team, Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit/Kawasaki, who has stuck by me through all of my recent
injuries. It is hard to explain how good it feels to have such a
great bunch of people around you that really believe in you. I can
not thank my team enough and only hope that I can repay them
by going out there next weekend and giving it all I have.“
Metcalfe has been riding his Kawasaki KX™250F for the last two
weeks as well as training throughout the duration of this
recuperation. He will utilize this last week to put on the final
touches before heading to Colorado. And although his thumb
injury was a bit of a set back, he is ready to take on the
remainder of the motocross season at 100 percent.
